Beyond the Gate is a new feature-length documentary project by veteran director Martin Páv that follows the emergence of a new world in the Ghanaian city of Elmina. At its center there is Czech entrepreneur David Duroň, who, after a major life transformation, leaves the corporate world to “start over”—and, together with the locals, builds the Lemon Beach resort. However, what began as a vision of helping others turns into a story of two worlds colliding, with the resort’s gate serving as their dividing line.
